WIDOWS MITE

This is about the Biblical Story where Jesus gave a lesson to his deciples about giving from the heart.

The background is a picture that I commissioned.  I have the original, you will not find it anywhere else. (Yes I have permission from the artist to do this).  The Biblical verse is also included.

The coin is a prutah from Judea.  This type of coin was minted starting around 120 B.C.  There were different issuers, inscriptions, etc.  Nobody knows for sure which type of coin was dropped into the offering by the widow, but the coins of Alexander Jannaeus were possible because so many were minted.  The coins are F-VF which is above average for these.  The coins are irregular in shape, as minted.  The coin you see pictured is not the one you will receive, but yours will be just as nice.

The frame is solid oak.  The coin is protected in a Kointain which is the same as is used by the Smithsonian.  The frame comes ready to hang.  The frame is 8 1/2 X 11.
